Exposición permanente de Rafael Botí

Because of its location in the main tourist area of the city, right next to the mosque, and its openness, this is one of the museums I recommend you visit during your stay in Cordoba. Note that it is open from Tuesday to Saturday from 10:00 to 20:30 and on Sundays only in the morning.

Rafael Botti

This painter from Córdoba was born in this century, in 1900. The son of a musician from Alicante, he studied painting with Julio Romero de Torres, modelling with Victoriano Chicot and art history with Ricardo Agrazote. He spent his formative years at the city’s School of Applied Arts, whose director at the time was Mateo Inuria.

Some of his classmates were Antonio Rodriguez Luna, Angel Lopez Obreiro, Rafael Romero de Torres, Octavio Nogales and others. It is a little known fact that Rafael also studied music at the Eduardo Lucena Higher Conservatory of Music.

As a young man he moved to Madrid to continue his education, and his first exhibition of paintings was in Córdoba, at the Círculo de la Amistad. As a painter, he stood out for his personal style. Rafael Botti was an artist who resisted following the different styles of the time.
