This city has a good cultural offer, several are the museums of Priego that deserve a visit. These are some of the museums to see in Priego de Cordoba, a small sample of the culture of this area of Cordoba.

Dr Niceto Alcalá Zamora House Museum

Dr Niceto Alcalá Zamora is one of the best known characters of Priego and who became president of the SECOND Republic from 1931. Born in Priego in 1877 he was also minister under the reign of Alfonso XIII.

The Museum is located in his birthplace, at 33 Rio Street. Where the furniture and everyday objects of that time are preserved. In some of the rooms there are numerous historical pieces referring to Dr Niceto and the Second Republic. A very interesting visit to learn more about the recent history of our country.

House of Dr Adolfo Lozano Sidro

Like the Dr Niceto Alcalá Zamora Museum, the Dr Adolfo Lozano Museum is located in his family home, which was donated to the City Council in 1985. In the first and second silver are exhibited a large number of works of the great painter.

There are about 70 original works, as well as sketches, drawings and portraits. The most important works that can be seen in this museum house are Tertulia in the café, Pawn shop or in the Priego fair.

Truffle’s mycological garden

A few kilometers from Priego is the Mycological Garden of The Truffle, an exhibition and study center dedicated to the different types of trees, plants and mushrooms of different areas of Andalusia.

It is a very unique exhibition, with a garden area and an exhibition room. It is declared a World Geo-Park by UNESCO and has the recognition of Natura 2000 Special Conservation Zone (ZEC), in addition to Special Protection Zone for Birds (ZEPA).

Other museums of Priego that you can visit are the Municipal Historical Museum, the Antonio Povedano Art Center, the Museum of Arts and Customs of Castil de Campos and the Almond Museum.
